Welcome Jason Townsend!

I am honored to join the Bullpup staff. I bring 18 years of experience in education, including eight years as a classroom teacher—primarily in 4th and 5th grade—and ten years as an elementary-level building administrator. I am passionate about supporting students, empowering educators, and fostering a collaborative school culture. I am especially committed to engaging families, students, and staff in setting and achieving meaningful goals that drive continuous growth and success.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Pittsburg State University. Additionally, I earned two master’s degrees from Wichita State University—one in Curriculum and Instruction and the other in Building Leadership. I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Kansas. I believe strongly in lifelong learning and continuously seek opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially camping and being at the lake. I also have a deep appreciation for sports and enjoy following a variety of athletic events, which help me maintain balance and recharge.
Family is the most important part of my life. My wife, Mariah, is a first-grade teacher, and we have three children—Payton (9th grade), Parker (7th grade), and Porter (Kindergarten). Whether we are enjoying outdoor activities or simply spending time together, I value every moment with them.
I am excited to be the newest member of the Bullpup team and look forward to meeting the students, families, and staff who make up this outstanding school community. It is a privilege to be part of such a dedicated and supportive environment, and I am eager to contribute to the continued success of our school.
