2024-2025 Mentoring Dates 

All GES, GRE and WES Mentors and Mentees will meet from 4:00 – 5:00p.m. at Garnett Elementary in room Blue-8 (Mrs. Linn’s Room).

ALL ACJSHS Mentors will meet for a “mentors only” meeting at 4:15 p.m. in room 129 of the high school (Mr. Sibley’s room).  They will meet along with their Mentees on these dates from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the same place. 

Throughout the year, Mentors and Mentees will meet regularly (weekly or bi-weekly depending on your experience thus far), and then we will meet as an entire group monthly. 

These meetings are REQUIRED 

Mentees receive FLEX hours for attendance and Mentors may claim PDP points for their time.  

You are expected to “SAVE THE DATES” and clear your schedule to attend. 
 
Monday, August 12^th 11:00 in the High School Commons this will be a short organizational meeting. 

Sept. 11^th – Understanding Student Assessment Data, Testing and Game Planning - Classroom Management 

Oct. 2nd-Conferences, Parent Relations and Preparing for a Substitute.  

Begin book study –read Chapter 1 (Standards for being a great Teacher) 

Nov. 6th– Book Study – read Chapters 2 &3 (Ditch your To-Do List & Batch Your Lesson Plans) 

Dec. 4^th – Book Study – read Chapters 4 & 5 (Simplify How Your Teach & Grading)

Jan. 8^th – Book Study – read Chapter 6 (Keep Your Eyes on Your Own Paper) 

 
Jan. 29th– Book Study – read Chapters 7 & 8 (Boundaries & Not So Wimpy Wins) 

This is bumped back a week to avoid Conferences 
Mar. 5^th – Book Study – read Chapter 9 (The 21 Day Challenge) 

 
Apr. 2nd – Book Study – “Challenge” evaluation – How to Finish Strong 

 
May 7^th – Evaluating a Teaching Year and Program Evaluation
