District Recognition Highlights
At last night’s Board of Education meeting, several staff and student accomplishments were celebrated. We extend our appreciation to the following individuals and groups for their outstanding contributions to our schools and community:
• Mr. Steve Wilson – Music Education Excellence
We recognize Mr. Steve Wilson for guiding our kindergarten, 3rd-, and 4th-grade students to an outstanding musical performance on Tuesday. The preparation, organization, and practice behind the scenes were evident, and our students shined under his leadership.
• Mrs. Libby Self – Special Education Support and Leadership
Our district special education coach, Libby Self, was commended for her hands-on partnership with teachers and teams across the district. Her willingness to dive into complex challenges and help improve processes has been invaluable in strengthening our services for students.
• Principal Marshall Nienstedt – Administrative Partnership
We appreciate Principal Marshall Nienstedt for his steady leadership and collaborative spirit. His support, problem-solving, and commitment to building cohesion across elementary levels continue to strengthen our PreK–12 system for all students.
• Chief Levota, Brett Linn & Vestal Teeter – Behind-the-Scenes Leadership
A big thank-you goes to Chief Levota, Brett Linn, and Vestal Teeter for their dedication and around-the-clock readiness. Their hard work behind the scenes ensures our schools run safely and smoothly, and we are deeply grateful for all they do.
• Student Achievement – Preparing for Finals Week
We are proud of our students’ efforts as Finals Week approaches. Currently, 78% of students have met the key criteria to be eligible to opt out of at least one final, and 13% are on track to opt out of all finals. Their commitment to attendance, behavior, and academic excellence is outstanding.
• Student Activities Leadership Team – Growing Leaders
We are excited about the growth of our Student Activities Leadership Team. After completing their second Uncommon Leadership session with Joe Coles, the team has expanded from 8 to 15 students, each invited for their leadership potential. This group is developing plans to positively impact our student body and community culture.
